Terms & the idea behind GearBase
Why GearBase exists
Most of us own piles of gear that's still perfectly good but no longer used — cables, power supplies, adapters, spares. Too much of it ends up forgotten in a drawer or thrown away. GearBase is here to keep good gear in use: know what each item is for, and pass on what you don't need to someone who does.
This is a community tool, not a shop. The whole point is to reduce waste and share — so it works best when lots of people take part, not a closed circle of a few.
No selling — by design
You may give items away for free or offer them for trade. Selling is not allowed on GearBase. Listing an item for money, asking for payment, or using the platform to broker a sale is against these terms and may get your account suspended.
Want to sell something instead? That's completely fine — just use a marketplace built for it, such as Ricardo, Facebook Marketplace, Tutti or Anibis. On each item page we give you a one-click way to copy its details for a listing there.
Requests are not guarantees
Asking for an item is just that — a request. The owner decides whether to give or trade it, to whom, and how to hand it over. Be kind, be patient, and don't treat a listing as an entitlement.
Your information
When you request an item we share your name, email and message with that item's owner so they can reply. We only use cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember preferences — no advertising or third-party tracking. Be respectful in conversations; abuse, spam or attempts to sell may lead to a ban.
No warranty
Items are shared as-is between members. GearBase isn't a party to any exchange and provides no warranty on items, their condition, or the conduct of members. Use common sense when meeting or shipping.
